Briones to teachers: “You are loved”

Department of Education Secretary Leonor M. Briones told public school teachers that they are loved and appreciated during a virtual turnover ceremony of e-gadgets in Negros Occidental on March 19,2021.

Secretary Briones, who is also from Negros, recognized the roles of teachers in the successful implementation of distant learning to ensure that education is still accessible to the Filipinos even during the pandemic. She also cited the important role of parents in assisting their children.

“You are loved and appreciated. Because of your unwavering commitment and dedication to raising and nurturing our learners, we are heading closer and closer to our goal of delivering quality, accessible, relevant, and liberating basic education,”  said Briones.

A total of 1,632 smartphones, 250 tablets and 28 laptops were turned over to 14 schools in the Municipality of Valencia, Negros Oriental. The turn-over ceremony was headed by Undersecretary for Administration Alain Pascua and Undersecretary for Field Operations Atty. Revsee Escobedo.

“Ang mga kagamitang ito ay bahagi lamang ng paraan natin upang maisakatuparan ang Blended Learning, kung saan ang teknolohiya ay may mahalagang gampanin upang maipagpatuloy ang edukasyon kahit wala pang physical classes.” Pascua said.

Both officials  were joined by other officials of DepEd both from the Central Office and local level.
